Job Title: Regional Financial Controller
 
Job Summary 
The Regional Financial Controller is considered part of the operating region Finance leadership, including both hands-on month-end accounting plus variance analysis reviews and understanding of KPIs and budget/forecast and developing strategic plans with the Finance team.
 
Key Tasks
Strategic Leadership
  • Analyse financial information and to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures; provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Provide advisory and executive leadership in both COMO Maalifushi and COMO Cocoa Island in meeting the strategic financial goals of the company.
  • Participate actively in Revenue Generation Meetings
  • Rate and yield management through Opera PMS and all distribution channels.
  • Accurately forecast resorts’ revenues, expenses, and earning based on past, present and expected operations. Educate Department Heads to react to changes with business forecast
  • Lead and be an integral part of business continuity planning and discussion

Financial Compliance, Planning and Leadership

  • Responsible for accounting and financial control in COMO Maalifushi and COMO Cocoa Island
  • Ensure the collection and payment of applicable local taxes are accurate and timely.
  • Negotiate and monitor contracts with vendors
  • Prepare Chart of Accounts, forecast report and manpower budget.
  • Oversee timely submission of reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Supervise the day to day activities of the Finance department including Purchasing, Receiving and Stores and ensure all standards are followed.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all daily reports are issued timely and accurately.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues and expenses.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts; establish or recommend to management major economic objectives and policies for the resorts.
  • Maximise cash flow performance of the resorts.
  • Lead and manage the Finance department and ensure all standards are followed.
 
Suitable  Requirements
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Sound knowledge of understanding the Maldivian luxury resorts market an advantage.
  • Highly computer literacy with an advanced level command of excel.
  • Knowledge of hotel technology, PMS, Opera, Micros, Accpac would be an advantage.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
