Watersports Activities and Excursions

At Cocoa Island by COMO, we would like you to fully enjoy all the activities on offer — on or under the water. Cocoa Island’s Marine Sports Centre is open from 8am until 6pm, seven days a week. We stop renting kayaks, windsurfing boards, stand up paddle boards and catamarans at 5.30pm — the sunset is very short in the region and we want to ensure you make it safely back prior to this.

All activities are undertaken at the guests’ risk. The Marine Sports Centre holds no responsibility whatsoever for property damage or personal injury that may occur during such activities.

Snorkelling Equipment
Use of snorkelling equipment during your stay with us is complimentary, making access to the spectacular underwater world surrounding Cocoa Island as easy as possible. Equipment is available from the Marine Sports Centre.

When snorkelling, be aware of currents and practice safe swimming by wearing a life jacket even if you are a capable swimmer. You should always ensure someone knows where you are snorkelling and your return time. We provide detailed briefing on water safety and snorkelling locations when we issue equipment.

Environmental Awareness
When you’re in the water it is important, to be aware of the reef and the marine life. Always snorkel horizontally, never kicking or standing on the coral reef. Please refrain from touching shells and marine animals as some are venomous. Explore the house reef with our guides by joining the complimentary snorkel session three times a week.

Marine Life Presentation
Every Wednesday at Faru Bar between 6.30pm and 7pm, take part in an engaging discussion on topics such as marine life preservation and the intricacies of the island’s ecosystem. You can ask our expert staff any questions you may have or talk about what you’ve found when exploring the sand and sea of Cocoa Island. Additionally, the Marine Sports Centre team are available to answer any questions you may have during your stay.

Marine Life Reference Information
In the Marine Sports Centre there are a range of fish and coral identification books for you to browse. The staff can also suggest the best local snorkelling sites for you to explore.

All prices are subject to 10% service charge and prevailing government taxes.
