Conserve is an environmental organisation working to reduce poverty and the environmental degradation in some of the poorest slums of New Delhi, India. Conserve’s signature programme involves recycling waste plastic bags into a “renewed” material that is then made into bags, wallets and other accessories.
Conserve recruits women directly from the slums in which most of Delhi’s garbage is dumped. Conserve’s work has enabled many to support their families and break the cycle of poverty.
Conserve also runs a mobile Clinic, which provides free medical care for Conserve employees and their families.
