Purchase with Purpose

Meaningful travel has never been easier than with COMO Hotels and Resorts and MasterCard. Travellers staying at COMO Hotels and Resorts’ 13 luxury properties across Asia, Australia, Europe and the Caribbean can make a lasting difference to local communities simply by using a MasterCard card to settle their bills.

Between 1st October and 31st December 2015, every MasterCard transaction at COMO triggers a US$25 donation through MasterCard’s ‘Purchase with Purpose’ programme, benefitting local community organisations and schools in each destination. Guests pay nothing extra.

This is the sixth year of the global partnership between COMO Hotels and Resorts and MasterCard. To date, the initiative has raised over US$220,000 for over 3,700 beneficiaries, supporting programmes such as hospitality training for high school students and underserved women in Bangkok, financial support to students and entrepreneurs in Bali and Bhutan, and both life and vocational skills training for youth in London, The Maldives and The Turks and Caicos.

“The COMO-MasterCard partnership provides a platform for our guests to make a meaningful difference to underserved youth, women and girls in every location we operate in. This year, COMO Hotels and Resorts is delighted to bring this unique partnership to Australia with our newest hotel, COMO The Treasury in Perth.” said Hans Joerg Meier, Chief Operating Officer for COMO Hotels and Resorts.

Georgette Tan, group head, Communications, Asia Pacific, MasterCard said, “This valuable partnership with COMO Hotels and Resorts reflects our shared belief in the importance of philanthropy, corporate responsibility, and in providing convenient ways for people to be able to donate to causes that matter to them. Through MasterCard’s Purchase with Purpose initiative travellers will be able to enjoy their break knowing they are having a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate wherever they are visiting.”
