FOUR NIGHTS AT UMA BY COMO, PARO THREE NIGHTS AT UMA BY COMO, PUNAKHA
Punakha Festival Dromchen - 6-10 March 2014
Punakha Tshechu - 11-13 March 2014
The following itinerary is available with arrival dates anytime from 4th March 2014
From the gravity defying Tiger’s Nest monastery to the temple of the Divine Madman, this is a journey into the ethereal world that is the Kingdom of Bhutan. Conceived as a 7-night adventure, it includes four nights at Uma Paro and three nights Uma Punakha. Accompanied by an experienced local guide this combination of spectacular drives, attendance at an ancient festival, unique nature walks and fascinating temple and monastery visits makes for an unforgettable adventure in the land above the clouds. The itinerary takes us deep into the Kingdom’s heartland exploring three distinctly different but important valleys: the bustling capital of Thimphu in a valley dotted with national monuments, museums and markets; the almost tropical Punakha Valley with its magnificent Dzongs; and the emerald valley of Paro with its rice paddies, ancient temples and the five-star comforts of Uma Paro and Uma Punakha.
The timing of this special group departure provides a unique opportunity to witness the Punakha Dromchen—a festival where we pay our respects and receive blessings at the celebration. In April, Bhutan is dry, warm and sunny in the day with clear inky blue skies, perfect for mountain views.
