COMO Shambhala Announces Bhutan Yoga Retreat for 2017

January, 2017
COMO Shambhala partners with renowned yoga instructors for a week-long retreat at Uma Bhutan
COMO Shambhala is pleased to announce a six-night, seven-day yoga retreat in Bhutan, hosted by leading Singaporean yoga instructors Lynn Yeo and Sumei Shum. Running from June 18th to the 24th 2017, the retreat will bring yoga enthusiasts to the heart of Buddhist Bhutan, with two nights in 12-room COMO Uma Punakha and four nights in COMO Uma Paro.
Lynn and Sumei’s focus throughout the retreat will be on harmonising mind, body and spirit, helping guests achieve a sense of self-fulfillment and greater wellbeing. Each day, excursions to places of great national and religious significance — including the world-famous ‘Tiger’s Nest Monastery’ — will enhance guests’ overall experience of the retreat, both culturally and spiritually.
During downtime, COMO Shambhala Retreats at both locations will offer a full range of massages (for an additional cost), helping to soothe and repair muscles exercised during the day’s excursions. COMO Shambhala therapies can also supplement the physical and emotional benefits which the yoga sessions provide.
Full board is included as part of the yoga week package. The wholesome COMO Shambhala Cuisine served at COMO Uma’s Bhutan hotels uses ingredients with very specific nutritional purposes, helping to boost concentration, energy and digestion while also balancing blood-sugar levels.
COMO Uma’s Bhutan properties are ideally placed to offer a fascinating insight into this historically secretive, all-Buddhist Himalayan kingdom. Consecutive stays in COMO Uma Paro and COMO Uma Punakha provide a unique dual-centre experience, with the daily excursions allowing access to some of the country’s main cultural highlights. Besides the iconic ‘Tiger’s Nest Monastery’, there will also be a trip to ‘Kyichu Lhakhang’, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, with an ancient orange tree that bears fruit all year round.
A comprehensive itinerary, as well as further dates of COMO Shambhala yoga retreats across the globe, will be released in the coming months.
