Archery and Darts

Cultural Experiences
The national sport of Bhutan is archery so your trip wouldn’t be complete without trying it for yourself. It’s complimentary to borrow the gear from the hotel, and practice on your own, but if you want to learn the real Bhutanese way, try one of our lessons. Your guide will set up the targets and teach you the rules, as well as how to correctly hold the bow. It’s an exhilarating feeling, releasing your arrow and watching it fly towards the target. Typically, the Bhutanese shoot from 150 metres away, but you can move as close as you like. Darts are another popular pastime in Bhutan. Bhutanese darts are fat and heavy, with a different scoring system to the western tradition, and a target low to the ground. Both sports are a fun way to spend an afternoon, enjoying some healthy competition with your family.
