Uma Cookery Class

Cultural Experiences

Held in our Kemiri restaurant and hosted by COMO Uma Ubud’s award-winning chef, this experience provides an insight into many areas of Balinese life and culture. Working with exotic herbs and spices, native to the Ubud area, you can learn how to prepare a traditional Indonesian meal, one of COMO Uma Ubud’s signature South-East Asian dishes or something from COMO Shambhala’s health-conscious menu. The session aims to start by 10am so that the meals can be sampled over lunch.

For private bookings, this experience may be combined with a visit to a traditional market for an additional charge of IDR 300,000 per trip (maximum three persons). The market tour brings you to Payangan, an active traditional market where locals buy and sell regional produce including meat, fruit, vegetables and a variety of colourful textiles and clothes.

Price:

  • IDR 250,000 per person
  • Private cooking classes are  available at IDR 750,000 per person

Duration: 2 hours (excluding market tour), 3 to 4 hours (including market tour)

Notes: Single bookings for private excursions are priced at 80 per cent of the couple price. For groups of three or more, each additional guest is charged 20 per cent of the couple price. All prices are subject to 21 per cent tax and service charge.
