About your host
Travis Ganong is a competitive skier from Lake Tahoe, USA. For the past 18 years, he has competed as a member of the U.S. Ski Team, establishing himself as one of the greatest downhill and super-G skiers of all time.
During his time on the U.S. Ski Team, Ganong earned two World Cup downhill victories, six World Cup podiums (including a podium finish at the 2023 Kitzbühel Downhill), a silver medal at the World Championships, a 5th place finish at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Downhill, and 55 top-ten finishes in his 207 starts. His skiing adventures have taken him all over the world, including Svalbard, Chile, Argentina, the Alps and of course his home around Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada.
Ganong has recently retired from ski racing and is looking forward to the next stage of his career: dedicating his time fully to freeskiing, giving back to the sport however he can, and working to preserve our delicate mountain environment for generations to come.
