Enjoy champagne and light bites before a fascinating COMO Conversation with curator Helena Cox. The exhibition traces Marie Antoinette’s 250-year influence on fashion and design through 250 unique objects, from opulent court gowns and jewels, to modern creations by Vivienne Westwood, Christian Dior and Chanel.
Helena Cox is the Research Assistant for Marie Antoinette Style. With expertise in 18th-century court culture and fashion history and experience working on past V&A exhibitions, she contributed essays to the accompanying exhibition publication. Before joining the V&A, Cox worked for the Impressionist and Modern Art department at Christie’s, King Street. Cox will be leading an upcoming V&A Academy course on Marie Antoinette Style from October 28th to November 25th 2025).
About the Exhibition
Opening September 20th 2025 at the V&A South Kensington, ‘Marie Antoinette Style’ celebrates one of history’s most fashionable and ill-fated queens. A complex style icon, Marie Antoinette’s allure was shaped by her youth, elegance and notoriety. Through over 250 objects spanning fashion, design, film and art, the exhibition reveals the enduring influence of her image across centuries of creativity.
