Reports to: Executive Chef / Sous Chef / Chef de Partie

Role
The Demi Chef de Partie assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence. Working closely with the Chef de Parte, and the Sous Chef, he/she will help maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.

Tasks / Responsibilities
• Ensure all opening and closing duties are implemented in accordance with the established standards
• Support the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations
• Preparation of staff meals in accordance to recipes and guidelines given by Head chef or Sous Chef including, if necessary, desserts and pastry items
• Preparation of Room Service and Met Bar menu mise-en-place in accordance to recipes and guidelines given by Head chef or Sous Chef
• Helping in the preparation of dishes and service for daily events and functions, under the supervision of Head Chef and Sous Chef
• Helping, when required, with breakfast service and preparation
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen area, fridges and equipment, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Helping minimising waste by using ingredients according to procedure and following recipe guidelines, checking date labels and controlling quality
• Be prepared to work on different tasks during the day, shifting quickly from one job to another and remain focused
• Helping with preparation of Afternoon De-light items following recipes and guidelines
• Make sure all equipment is used according to instructions, respected and maintained
• Assist both the Head Chef and the Sous Chef in the day-to-day operations of the department as required

Essential Attributes
• Previous experience working in fast paced kitchen
• Willingness to work in a team
• Willing and able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings when required
• At least one year experience as Demi Chef de Partie or Commis in high end restaurant or Hotel
