The Essential End of Year: Bangkok

BANGKOK’S TOP EXHIBITIONS, SHOWS AND CONCERTS FOR 2025

Here, we share monthly highlights in Bangkok’s cultural calendar for the last quarter of 2025, all within easy reach of the newly refurbished COMO Metropolitan Bangkok.

OCTOBER

From October 14th to 26th, DAYDREAM: the music cycle for Retreat, Emptiness and Trance will show at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. This immersive collaboration between Thai composer Pongtorn Techaboonakho and A440 Sound Lab challenges the audience to explore emptiness and inner stillness, using sound installations to shape a space pulsing with acoustic tones.

The Thai Vegetarian Festival or Nine Emperor Gods lasts from October 20th to 29th. This nine-day event is dedicated to the purification of body and mind. Although festivities are at their peak in Phuket, where COMO Point Yamu is located, guests at COMO Metropolitan Bangkok can also celebrate, with a vegetarian tasting menu at Michelin-starred nahm. The inventive selection will include tom yum soup, wild tomato relish served with tofu and fermented dried beans, and vibrant yellow pepper stir-fry served with wild rice stems.

On October 27th, the Royal Barge Procession will make its way along the Chao Phraya River from Wasukri Pier to Wat Arun. Over 50 traditional barges will be rowed by some 2,000 oarsmen in traditional dress, in honour of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn. It’s an extraordinary spectacle, best watched from the riverside.

NOVEMBER

The Grand Ceremony of Loy Krathong, the annual Buddhist festival of floating lanterns, will take place on November 5th. Thousands of lanterns and baskets will be launched along Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River, honouring the water spirits and symbolising a release of negativity. At COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, you can set your own decorative lantern afloat in the lobby’s fountain.

DECEMBER

For family festivities, the ICONSIAM’s ICONIC Multimedia Water Features Show will take place from December 25th to 31st. It will feature a 400-metre-wide fountain show, backed by the Chao Phraya River and accompanied by colourful lights and music. There will be three shows each day, at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.

November to February is Bangkok’s coolest season, making December an ideal time to visit The Grand Palace and Wat Arun. Respectively home to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Temple of the Dawn, these two sites are architectural and cultural masterpieces, well worth visiting on a tour organised by COMO Metropolitan Bangkok.
