Reporting to: Assistant Restaurant Manager and Supervisor 

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform. Assist in administering and communicating pertinent information regarding

• Take reservations by phone or for in house customer

• Greet and welcome customers, including escorting them to their tables 

• Present menus to customers and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request, including informing customers of daily specials and explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. 

• Take orders from customer for food or beverages.

• Enter orders into Micros for transmittal to kitchen staff or Write food orders on order slips, memorize orders.

• Inform customers of daily specials.

• Serve food and/or beverages to customers; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required.

• Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for customers, and chill bottles of wine.

• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.

• Describe and recommend wines to customers.

• Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wines for customers

• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning.

• Clean tables and/or counters after customers have finished dining.

• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Collect payments from customers.

• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.

• Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers. Any other duties that may be assigned by your manager from time to time.
