Position: Painter and Decorator

Department: Technical Services

Reports to: Assistant Chief Engineer / Cluster Chief Engineer

Role:
The Painter/Decorator is responsible for maintaining the physical property and furnishing in a manner consistent with that of a luxury hotel. He/she execute daily tasks by having an understanding and adhering the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

Tasks / Responsibilities:
• Complete all assigned work in a safe and complete fashion, whilst employing safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies
• Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner and ensure a clean, neat and organized work area
• Responsible for executing is daily tasks in following the Hotel policies and procedures in relation to occupational Health and Safety, and injury Management
• Repair and refinish woodwork, plaster and stucco
• Patch and paint interior and exterior surfaces
• Install and repair of vinyl and paper wall coverings
• Repair and refinish furniture
• Maintain stock and inventory for the shop
• Maintain brushes and rollers in good condition
• Handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor
• Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff and to take reasonable care to perform duties as instructed, and prevent injuries to self and others.
• Report any safety maintenance of equipment and be able to identify and report any hazards
• Provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times
• Comply with local legislation as required
• Attend training and meetings as and when required

Essential Attributes:
• Previous experience as Painter/Decorator
• Ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
• Good social interaction and communication skills
• Proactive in approach with a self-driven attitude
• Good spoken and written English

Desirable Attributes
• Be fully conversant with fire and emergency procedures.
• Be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned
