This season, COMO Uma Ubud is partnering with luxury jewellery brand John Hardy to bring Ubud’s renowned artisanal spirit to life for guests. The new Legend of Naga Experience features a three-night stay in a Pool Suite at COMO Uma Ubud, a Tirta Empul temple cultural tour, an invitation to John Hardy’s Ubud Workshop, as well as a romantic three course dinner for two at the resort’s private Kemiri Bale.
Through the cultural tour, guests will discover the innate beauty of Bali’s spiritual and cultural heritage through a traditional water blessing. The Tirta Empul acts as a natural tribute to the artisanship of Bali and a source of inspiration to John Hardy as it features beautiful hand carved stone Naga statues and natural pools of fresh spring water. Following this spiritual blessing, guests will visit the John Hardy Ubud Workshop where local artisans demonstrate the lauded eight-step jewellery-making process. Guests have the opportunity to work side-by-side with master artisans to illustrate and try their hand at carving their own Naga Collection pieces, followed by lunch with John Hardy designers and artisans for two at the Workshop.
Established in Bali in 1975, John Hardy is dedicated to the creation of ultimate beauty through artisan handcrafted jewellery. Master artisans honour their original craft through the perfection of modern design, creating timeless one-of-a-kind pieces that are brilliantly alive. Elemental force meets elegant form in the brand’s re-interpretation of the legendary Balinese icon, Naga.
The John Hardy Naga collection has been admired and worn by celebrities including Adwoa Aboah and Zayn Malik. The collection celebrates the power of creation and Naga as a symbol of nature, reinforcing the journey from legend into symbolism and inspiring strength and power in the wearer.
COMO Uma Ubud, nestled among paddy fields in the heart of Bali, immerses guests in the culture of the destination while also offering bespoke amenities. Each of the 46 rooms and suites styled in a contemporary Asian design, exude the charm of a traditional Indonesian village, with the added luxury of landscaped courtyards, sunshine-filled spaces and infinity-edge plunge pools. The on-property restaurants, Kemiri and Uma Cucina, boast world-class cuisine while COMO Shambhala Retreat at Uma Ubud focuses on holistic wellness, with active pursuits including temple visits, biking and trekking.
