Paths to Restoration

AUTUMN WELLNESS AT COMO PARROT CAY

This season, COMO Parrot Cay’s private-island setting becomes the backdrop for three distinct disciplines — acupuncture, mindful movement, and Ayurveda — each offering guests a different route back to balance.

Try Japanese acupuncture

As a resident COMO Shambhala practitioner at the resort’s award-winning wellness centre, Nanami Yamabe specialises in Japanese acupuncture and Shiatsu treatments treating a wide range of conditions — from targeted muscle and nerve pain and digestive issues to insomnia, migraines, fatigue and women's health. Yamabe uses techniques honed over a decade of practice to assess the body’s internal balance. Following pulse, abdomen and skin checks, she’ll apply ultra-fine needles to address whole body health. “I want to truly feel and understand what the body is saying, not just follow theory,” Yamabe says: “that’s what I love about Japanese acupuncture — it’s not about fixing something from the outside, but about reconnecting with the body’s inner voice.”

Find Core Harmony with Pilates and Kun-Aqua

Returning for her third season as Visiting Pilates Instructor from November 10th 2026 to March 30th 2027, Davida Peterson helps guests build strength, improve mobility and cultivate mindful movement through Reformer and Mat Pilates. “For me, Pilates isn't just a workout to tone your arms or get a six-pack; it’s a whole lifestyle that translates into everyday life,” she says. “My philosophy is all about mastering the groundwork and the little details first — real growth happens when you get excited about the basics.” Her adaptable programme ranges from personalised and Prenatal Pilates to Powerstroke Pilates, a sport-focused session for tennis, golf and swimming that builds rotational power and total-body control. Peterson also leads Kun-Aqua, using water resistance to build strength, endurance and balance while activating the body’s deep postural muscles.

Explore Ayurveda

Joining COMO Shambhala Parrot Cay from November 1st 2026 to February 15th 2027, Dr Vikrant Sharma is an Ayurvedic Doctor and Wellness Consultant who focuses on the foundations of lasting, preventative wellbeing. Following a consultation to assess each guest’s unique constitution, he builds a programme around nutrition, lifestyle, daily rhythms and therapeutic treatment. His residency spans Abhyanga massage, Reiki and guided meditation, as well as a Sensory Ayurveda Journey combining Shirodhara, sound healing and Marma therapy. “Before we optimise the body, we should understand the person,” Sharma says. “Ayurveda teaches us to understand our own body, mind and daily rhythm, and make choices accordingly.” He’ll also host a COMO Conversation, ‘A Journey into Ayurveda’, introducing guests to the discipline’s timeless principles.
