As a resident COMO Shambhala practitioner at the resort’s award-winning wellness centre this summer, Yamabe will use techniques honed over a decade of practice to assess the body’s internal balance. Following pulse, abdomen and skin checks, she’ll apply ultra-fine needles to address whole body health, with a specialism in targeted muscle and nerve pain, digestive issues, insomnia, migraines, fatigue, and women’s health. “I want to truly feel and understand what the body is saying, not just follow theory,” Yamabe says: “that’s what I love about Japanese acupuncture – it’s not about fixing something from the outside, but about reconnecting with the body’s inner voice.”
