Nok uses her experience in multiple forms of yoga, Pilates and Thai classical dance to help you discover a new discipline, or to help more experienced practitioners elevate their practice, building physical and spiritual strength. Sunrise Sandbank Yoga
Sunrise on COMO Cocoa Island is a truly magical time of day, which is why we encourage you to enjoy early morning practice with your feet in the sand. From the privacy of a secluded sandbank, you’ll begin your day with an energising sequence, connecting with form and breath whilst enjoying the first soothing rays of the Maldivian sun. Whether you’re seeking to relax your mind or to invigorate your body, the combination of this sublime location and Nok’s gentle guidance will leave you ready for the day’s adventures.
Ocean-front Yoga Pavilion
Open to the air, a yoga class in our ocean-front pavilion strikes the perfect balance between studio and out-of-doors practice, allowing you to engage with the natural world whilst retaining the stabilising influence of a studio floor beneath your feet. Classes take place throughout the day in this space, with a timetable that encompasses Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Hatha yoga, as well as meditation and mat Pilates. It’s the perfect space to explore the relationship between Pilates and yoga: in Pilates, the focus is physical fitness, harnessing the breath to build energy and bodily strength. In yoga, meanwhile, the goal is mental, using purposeful movement of the body to heal mind and spirit.
A yoga class to end the day on Ufaa beach while taking in the golden hues at sunset is a perfect way to end the day. Under Nok’s guidance, you can focus on the fluidity of your movements to embody the waves that ebb and flow in front of you. This helps to centre your practice, mirroring the cyclical balance and transformative power that the ocean represents.
If you’re looking to build a pattern of movement into alignment and a stronger body, then a one-on-one session in our private Pilates studio is ideal. Fully equipped with a cadillac reformer, ladder barrel and combo chair, you can focus on building up core strength, tone muscle or address any injuries or chronic imbalances that impede your body. Nok is a keen advocate for Reformer Pilates; this allows for regulated resistance and tension thanks to adjustable springs, a sliding carriage, ropes, and pulleys. The system provides a more challenging strength and endurance workout, and may also produce visible results sooner.
