At COMO Hotels and Resorts we are committed to sustainability, social responsibility and ethical practice. It's a passion that is embedded in everything we do, from how our chefs source ingredients to the way we engage with local communities.

We call this COMO Cares - encapsulating our aim to ensure a collective, positive impact in all the destinations where we operate.

We recognise that each COMO location is unique and faces different local challenges and opportunities for sustainability. Yet, the basis for our efforts is the same - a firm belief that we can deliver distinct, memorable experiences for you while operating responsibly. That means whenever you stay at a COMO hotel or resort, you are engaging with our values around environmental stewardship and community engagement, whether you're feasting on local ingredients at dinner, or enjoying one of our Iconic Experiences, which cultivate deeper engagement and connection with local environments and cultures.

Managing our Footprint

We embed sustainable practices in our daily operation to minimise our impact, including innovative technologies and continuous monitoring to reduce consumption, optimise renewable energy sources, and promote water conservation. We also tackle waste with a range of solutions including on-site composting and harnessing local supply chains.

As part of our commitment to responsible sourcing, we are working towards sourcing 100 per cent cage-free eggs - including shell, liquid, and processed egg products, across all COMO-owned and managed hotels and resorts worldwide by the end of 2026. To verify our sustainability efforts, we are committed to achieving an EarthCheck sustainability Silver certification 16 of our properties by the end of 2026. This means a Sustainability Management System is in place and audited annually by an external auditor.

Phuket

At COMO Point Yamu in Phuket, we use low thermal emissivity glass in all glass features to reduce the amount of heat transmitted into the building. In all cases, technology is the first investment. Employee engagement and training are equally important. And you can choose to participate too - at all our properties, small gestures such as re-using towels and linens, and shutting windows and sliding doors also help to conserve energy.

London

In London, COMO Metropolitan London and COMO The Halkin have partnered with Podback, a UK-based coffee pod recycling company, to collect and repurpose aluminium coffee pods by shredding them to extract the remaining coffee, which is then converted into renewable energy and compost.

Turks and Caicos

At COMO Parrot Cay, all used glass is crushed and sorted by size to be repurposed at our on-site recycling center, to be used as a construction component in our resort's walking stones.

Tuscany

In COMO Castello Del Nero, our estate's olive groves and sunflower fields produce exceptional oils, cultivated using sustainable methods and without chemical fertilisers. Annually, we produce approximately 300 litres of extra virgin olive oil, while our sunflower fields yield around 50 litres of oil. These oils are integral to our culinary creations and reflect our commitment to Tuscany's agricultural traditions and environmentally responsible practices.
