November 16th — Join us for a COMO Conversation exploring Bhutan’s ambitious vision for Gelephu Mindfulness City, a future-focused city inspired by the kingdom’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness.
Rabsel Dorji is the Managing Director of the Tourism Development Group at Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), where he leads the development of GMC as a mindful, transformative and high-value destination. His mandate includes shaping GMC’s tourism strategy, developing distinctive visitor experiences, attracting aligned hospitality and tourism partners, and ensuring that tourism in GMC reflects the values of mindfulness, sustainability, cultural authenticity and meaningful economic opportunity.
He previously served as the Chief of Communications, where he led the development of communications functions from their early stages. He has been part of the GMC team since its inception and has contributed to public positioning, institutional communications and engagement with partners, investors, visitors and the wider Bhutanese community. In addition to his role at GMC, Dorji serves as the Honorary Consul of France to Bhutan. Earlier in his career, he worked as a serial social entrepreneur, consultant, academic and United Nations officer.
Led by Rabsel Dorji, Managing Director of the Tourism Development Group at Gelephu Mindfulness City, the discussion will consider a new approach to urban development in which mindfulness, wellbeing, nature, culture and economic progress coexist. It will also examine what this model could mean for urban living, travel and sustainability.
