About your host

Jigme Tenzin is a Bhutanese trail runner who has made significant strides in ultra-distance running, recently setting a new Fastest Known Time (FKT) of 10 hours and eight minutes from Lukla to Everest Base Campan.

Born and raised in Paro, Bhutan, Tenzin’s early athletic career began with football, where he represented Bhutan’s national team. His transition into trail running journey was fuelled by a deep connection to the mountainous terrain of his homeland. It started with a run to Bhutan's renowned Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) and has since blossomed into ultra-distance running with increasingly challenging treks, leading to Tenzin setting records on some of Bhutan’s most iconic trails.

A passionate advocate for climate action, Tenzin’s runs often carry a message of environmental awareness, inspired by Bhutan's commitment to being carbon negative and fighting climate change
