Try your hand at light tackle or fly fishing in the Maldives’ most exciting fishing grounds, just 30 minutes from COMO Maalifushi by speedboat.
Wade the unspoilt flats to the north and south of the island — where fish have rarely seen a fly — or fish light tackle along the inner atoll drop-off for trevally, red snapper and grouper.
Available from December to April, this family-friendly experience blends adventure with expert guidance, inviting anglers of all levels to connect with the ocean.
Captain Noah Thompson brings his global experience to COMO Maalifushi’s fishing opportunities, shaped by years guiding expeditions in saltwater and freshwater destinations worldwide. A decorated international competitor and former leader within the USA Youth Fly Fishing Team, Noah’s career spans the Florida Keys, Baja’s Magdalena Bay, Oman, Honduras, and Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. Specialising in fly fishing and light tackle, Noah guides guests to iconic species, from Maldivian flats targets such as triggerfish and giant trevally to offshore game fish including marlin, tuna, sailfish, and wahoo.
His approach is defined by technical precision, intuitive leadership, and a profound sense of responsibility for the fisheries he stewards. He pairs elite skill with an approachable, encouraging style, ensuring every guest feels confident, capable, and inspired. Beyond the water, Noah is co-founder of ‘Fish for Change’, a youth and community-based initiative focused on conservation, cultural connection, and habitat restoration.
