Canteen Cook

Position:  Canteen Cook
Base Location: Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands
Department:  Culinary
Reports into: Canteen Manager

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Identifying to the senior chefs of jobs task that need to be completed once their shift is finished ,speaking to other cooks of jobs required for their shift & briefed on the day’s events
  • Making sure that all storage areas of fresh food & dry store items are kept clean, and the first in first out policy applies
  • Enforcing proper handling of high foods e.g. (dairy, meat &seafood) and to be aware of cross contamination
  • Never leave fresh produce unattended
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene standards practicing
  • Making sure that your section in clean & equipment that you were responsible for during the service is clean, before shift changes take place
  • Food items should not leave the kitchen without the executive chef’s consent
  • Stealing from the kitchen will not be tolerated & could lead to instant dismissal
