Executive Housekeeper

Role:

The Executive Housekeeper main role is to manage the overall direction and operations of the Housekeeping department. He/she shall be required to develop specific goals policies and strategies for the Housekeeping department, which shall be implemented through correct planning organising and training, whilst also ensuring that high standards, quality and maximum profitability is aimed for at all times.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Housekeeping department, ensuring that directions are properly executed

• Perform the highest standard of service in compliance with the COMO values, emphasizing the needs for consistency throughout

• Seek responsibility, show courage in taking decisions and take responsibility for your actions and the actions of those reporting to you

• Be a leader to be looked upon and act as a showcase of proper attire and behavior anywhere near the Hotel premises

• Ensure all areas of the Hotel are clean; bedrooms, public areas, back of house, etc., all bedrooms and guests areas are checked by Housekeepers at least daily, all areas of cleaning contracted out are checked on regular basis

• Plan ‘spring cleaning’ of all areas is carried out on a phased basis over and above routine cleaning

• Ensure laundry operations operate to standards; that all guests’ linen is laundered properly, correctly folded, and that no damage is affected by laundering

• Ensure guests' laundry and dry cleaning operate to correct standard; collection and delivery run to schedule, discrepancies in counts and/or returns are followed up, all instances of loss or damage are pursued with the laundry contractor and with the guest

• Establish and organize necessary training in order for the team to achieve the COMO set of standards

• Set and periodically review the service standards with regards to market demands and competition

• Manage staff recruitment for the Housekeeping department

• Encourage open communication and share information with the Housekeeping team

• Hold daily briefings and regular meetings to communicate important information to the team

• Be knowledgeable about the Hotel’s facilities, operating hours and services provided, keep yourself updated continuously on the Hotel’s latest development

• Solve all problems encountered in a responsible and transparent way; encourage your team to take immediate decisions on minor problems or accidents that occur

• Make yourself available to the team when assistance is needed, and take the necessary action when required

• Apply and make sure the Housekeeping team applies to safety measured indicated in your Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instruction (WI)

• Ensure the good functioning of your team working tools, which will subsequently reflect the service quality

• Create and implement concise long-term goals and strategies that will spur your department and subsequently the Hotel to succeed and grow

• Recognise and develop excellence in the work and expertise of your subordinates

Essential Attributes

• Previous experience as managing or supervising in Housekeeping
• Proactive in approach with self-driven attitude
• Excellent social and communication skills
• Capacity to handle unexpected issues effectively and efficiently 
• Excellent spoken and written English 

Desirable Attributes

• Ability to communicate in multiple languages 
• Be familiar of Housekeeping software such as Opera, Knowcross, etc
• Experience in a high-end or high-occupancy hotel
