Position: Boat Cew

Reporting to: Director of Boating and Security
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the operation of the vessel under the direction of the Captain by reading the compass, navigational charts and other Marine instruments.
- Handle docking and undocking procedures, including managing mooring lines, fenders, and other equipment.
- Participate in navigational duties, such as standing watch and reporting any hazards or obstacles. Participate in safety drills, including fire, man overboard, and abandon ship drills.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
- Assist in emergency situations, following procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the vessel, including passenger areas, crew quarters, and common spaces.
- Inspect and maintain the vessel's equipment, reporting any issues to the relevant supervisor.
- Provide high-quality customer service to passengers, addressing their needs and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey.
- Verify the accuracy of information received by telephone/radio for transmission
- Stand gangway watches to prevent unauthorized persons from boarding ships while they are in port.
- Inspect vessels to ensure efficient and safe operation of vessels and equipment, and conformance to regulations,
- Maintain a record of vessel activities and other require data in the ship log,
- Lower and man lifeboats when emergencies occur.
- Be an extra eye for Security reporting any unusual or suspicious movement in and around Parrot Cay,
- Sleeps on Parrot Cay on a regular Basics to assist with operating the vessel in the event there is an emergency,
- You are responsible for checking and keeping the first aid kit up to date.
- Exercise all care and responsibility for all guest luggage.
- As a crew you are required to assist loading and unloading guest luggage's.
Key Requirements:
- Prior experience in a maritime environment or related field is preferred but not always required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, pulling, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic seamanship skills, including knowledge of knots, rigging, and maritime safety.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Customer service skills, particularly for roles on passenger vessels.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, firefighting, or basic seamanship.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is often required; specialized training or maritime courses are a plus.
