Night Shift Engineer

Position: Night Shift Engineer
Base Location: Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands
Department: Engineering
Reports into: Chief Engineer
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Monitor, operate, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems during night hours.
- Respond promptly to guest or occupant maintenance requests and resolve issues professionally.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and record findings.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions or facility-related problems.
- Monitor fire alarm and safety systems, responding appropriately to any alerts.
- Ensure building security by checking mechanical rooms, doors, and common areas.
- Complete all maintenance logs, shift reports, and handovers accurately.
- Support energy-saving and safety initiatives throughout the property.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in engineering and maintenance areas.
- Escalate major system failures or emergencies to appropriate personnel or contractors.
Key Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems preferred.
- Prior maintenance or engineering experience in a commercial, hospitality, or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and local codes.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions during unsupervised shifts.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- High attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Physically fit and able to lift/move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in tight or elevated spaces.
- Ability to stay alert and productive during overnight hours.
- May involve working alone or with a small team, including weekends and holidays.
