Reporting to: Senior Accounts Executive / Assistant Finance Manager / Finance Manager / Cluster Finance Manager

Role: 

The Accounts Executive works as part of a Finance Team within the hotel, reporting to the Senior Accounts Executive and Assistant Finance Manager. The role supports the Finance Manager and the Cluster Finance Manager to ensure accurate and timely business information is available to the hotel and head office and to maintain the integrity of the accounts at all time, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk to the business, and maximizing profit. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cash banking, cash journals postings, petty cash and due backs reconciliation, floats count and other cash handling related duties whilst following company cash handling policies and procedures

  • Assist with revenue audit, review revenue adjustments, prepare management account journals, perform spot or detailed checks, resolve and correct any variances within a timely manner

  • Assist with accounts payable duties, processing travel agent commission reconciliation and payments

  • Assist with month end process

  • Remain updated and be fully compliant with all Company Policies, SOP’s, operating procedures and internal controls/financial auditing, and the up-to-date laws relating to Fraud and Money Laundering and be compliant with these at all times

  • Ensure PCI compliance at all times

  • Ensure that company audit policies are in place and followed adequately

  • Ensure that all legal responsibilities are followed with regards to VAT, filing and retention of records etc. Storage of all data required is in a neat and orderly manner and clear-outs follow the legal requirements.

  • Assist the Finance Manager and department with any additional duties that may be required other than the above and any ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Finance Manager / Regional Finance Manager.

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by hotel management.

Essential Attributes:

  • An individual who has a background in accounting would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Opera is highly desirable
  • A positive character with a proactive approach and a self-driven attitude
  • Someone who has excellent attention to detail
  • An individual who has a responsible attitude with a calm and professional approach
  • An individual who has a team player attitude
